Game 1 – 5/21/13

The Cogs offense too much for Country Boy/Kenyon in 17-1 rout

The Cogs jumped out to an early lead on Country Boy/Kenyon and captured a 17-1 victory on Tuesday at Field one (Cog Memorial).

Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed The Cogs to put the game away early. A two-run home run by James Moretti in the first inning and a two-run single by Rocco Dionisio, a two-run home run by Devon Pruitt, a passed ball, and a sacrifice fly by Mike Webster during the second inning fueled The Cogs’ offense early.

The Cogs hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for The Cogs came when Dionisio homered in the seventh inning.

Dionisio racked up five RBIs on four hits for The Cogs.

Webster got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She tossed four innings of shutout ball. Webster struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.
The Cogs easily handled Country Boy/Kenyon pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, nine RBIs and 14 runs scored.

First-inning rally sparks blowout win for The Cogs, 13-5

The Cogs beat Thetfords 13-5 in seven innings on Tuesday at two after a seven-run explosion in the first inning.

 

The Cogs hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for The Cogs came when Nate Miller homered in the first inning, James Moretti homered in the first inning, and Mike Webster homered in the fourth inning.

Webster got the win for The Cogs despite allowing five runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked five and surrendered seven hits.

The Cogs hammered Thetfords pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

The Cogs put up one run in each of the second, fourth and fifth. In the second, The Cogs scored on an RBI single by Webster, scoring Dave Moxley.

The Cogs piled on three more runs in the bottom of the third. A clutch hit into a fielder’s choice scored Miller and Rich Weiss to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Mike Lawson‘s triple, plating Clint Mathewson.

5/26/12 – Game Recap

Webster hits and pitches The Cogs/Miller Financial to 21-0 victory

 

Mike Webster powered The Cogs at the plate and on the rubber Tuesday, willing The Cogs to a 21-0 victory over Fox.

Webster had three extra-base hits for The Cogs. He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the second and third innings, and singled in the fifth inning.

The Cogs’ Webster kept Fox off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up four.

The biggest inning for The Cogs was the second. In the inning The Cogs scored 11 runs.

The Cogs pounded Fox pitching, as nine hitters combined for 22 hits, 21 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

The Cogs increased its lead with three runs in the third. A clutch fielder’s choice scored Devon Pruitt to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Dave Moxley’s double, scoring Jon Nebesnik.

The Cogs added five more runs in the top of the fourth. Tom Davis kicked things off with a double, scoring Rich Weiss and Nate Miller. That was followed up by Ian Ward’s single, bringing home Davis.

The Cogs built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. A error scored Webster to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Davis’ single, scoring James Moretti.

5/24/12 – Softball Game

The Cogs/Miller Financial outlast Ruffino in high-scoring affair, 30-9

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between The Cogs and Ruffino, as the two teams put up 39 runs combined in a 30-9 The Cogs win.

The teams combined for 29 hits, including 11 extra base hits.

Fifteen runs in the first three innings helped The Cogs blow out Ruffino. An RBI double by Felix Thomas and an error during the first inning and an RBI single by Jon Nebesnik, a walk by Dave Moxley, and a sacrifice fly by George Nebesnik in the second inning fueled The Cogs’ offense early.

The Cogs hit four home runs in the win. Home runs for The Cogs came when Clint Mathewson homered in the third inning, Nate Miller homered in the third inning, James Moretti homered in the third inning, and Devon Pruitt homered in the fifth inning.

Mike Webster recorded the win for The Cogs. He allowed three runs over three innings. Webster struck out four, walked one and gave up five hits.

The Cogs easily handled Ruffino pitching as nine hitters combined for 18 hits, 25 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

The top of the first saw The Cogs take an early lead, 2-0. The Cogs pushed more runs across when.

It didn’t take long for Ruffino to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the first. Ruffino scored on a two-run double by PlayerE.

The Cogs built upon its lead with 10 runs in the third. Miller kicked things off with a three-run blast, scoring Moretti and Thomas. That was followed up by Mathewson’s two-run home run, plating Rich Weiss.

The Cogs increased its lead with eight runs in the fourth. A passed ball scored Weiss to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Moxley’s single, bringing home Mathewson and Pruitt.

The Cogs added seven more runs in the top of the fifth. Pruitt started the inning with a two-run blast, scoring Mathewson. That was followed up by Moxley’s double, bringing home Tom Davis.
